The Policeman’s Blog featured a video showing what an officer could face at any time during an arrest and booking. There was a very good response from the officer and his backup. However, to be critical, that booking area is a terrible setup for any type of searching and officer safety type maneouvers.
Also, while analysing the video, look at the subject’s behavior: see how many threat cues you can count before the knife is pulled. There are quite a few. Booking is the area where offenders are guaranteed to fight. Keeping an eye out for these threat cues is essential to your own safety.
